Carnation-True Love

　　I always think that Mothers 'Day is just for foreigners. But now I understand that everyone should fix a Mothers' Day in his or her heart and celebrate it with carnation—a flower made of true love.

　　This Mothers' Day came as usual, quiet and unnoticed. I didn't realise the importance of that day until those carnation pricked my eyes—those bright-coloured flowers, without any decoration, only the natural beauty. It is said that carnation should be pink for the two words which have the same meaning. But I picked a red one, representing the deepest love.

　　There is no need to describe what happened next. Of course, Mother was excited and moved, and she even couldn't say a word but “Thank you”. I know, at that time, no word could be used to express her mood. Also, the carnation couldn't speak, but it contained all the words I wanted to say.

　　I don't know why the carnation is for Mothers' Day. But I know that it is a proper one to express love without any words, and even a single word will break the harmony.

　　Maybe, with the fear and hope for the future, I have to leave my family one day, but I will always keep the fully bloomed flower in my heart, like Mother's happy smile. Maybe, when I am old, I will have my own daughter, all I want from her is nothing else but the carnation, a flower for unselfish, pure and grateful love.

　　Perhaps, several days later, the carnation will be faded, but the flower of my true love will be in full bloom forever.
